Causes of the Revolution

The Essential Question: Were the colonists justified in declaring their independence from the British.
We are continuing our exploration of the Causes of the Revolution. Two documents have been our guides to this point. They are:
POGIL #1 - Tea Acts, Parties and Intolerables
POGIL #2 - Lexington and Concord - This just got real!
Both of these documents are guiding our students through the Causes of the Revolution using group dynamics and primary sources from the time. The goal is for students to understand both sides of the story of the Revolution and determine for themselves whether or not the colonists were justified in declaring their independence from the British.
Each POGIL ends with a short writing activity that is to be used as a set up for the summative writing work at the end of the unit.
