Good Books

This is a page of books that I've enjoyed reading and tie into some of the many topics we'll cover this year in History. I'm going to read 40 books during the school year. Are you up to the challenge?

I don't only read books about history, but it is an interest of mine, so many of the books skew in that direction. Let me know if you have any recommendations for good books to read.

Treaties, Trenches, Mud, and Blood

by Nathan Hale

Great fun to read. Takes a very complex story of conflict and breaks it down to be understood by my elementary school boys.

Challenger Deep

by Neal Shusterman

It's a fool who looks for logic in the chambers of the human heart (mind). Trying to piece this book together helps to put the point across in a manner that elicits sympathy for Caden and his 'journey'.

One day read. I appreciated and enjoyed seeing the personal perspective of the Supreme Court case. We often miss the real effect of laws and government and this book brought it out clearly.
