This is a page of books that I've enjoyed reading and tie into some of the many topics we'll cover this year in History. I'm going to read 40 books during the school year. Are you up to the challenge?

Great fun to read. Takes a very complex story of conflict and breaks it down to be understood by my elementary school boys.
It's a fool who looks for logic in the chambers of the human heart (mind). Trying to piece this book together helps to put the point across in a manner that elicits sympathy for Caden and his 'journey'.
Loving vs. Virginia: A Documentary Novel of the Landmark Civil Rights Case
One day read. I appreciated and enjoyed seeing the personal perspective of the Supreme Court case. We often miss the real effect of laws and government and this book brought it out clearly.
A quick read that engages the reader into the story of Ghost and his challenging quest to become the type of person he wants to be.
Pride and Prejudice and Zombies
